I’m excited to have been walking 100 Miles in May to raise funds for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT) and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little helps!

Thank you to my family, friends, clients, and contacts who have donated so far and those who I hope will decide to contribute after reading this blog.

When a close member of your family needs the emergency services, you realise just how important these organisations are and EHAAT relies on public donations and fund raising to survive.

EHAAT covers emergency accidents and incidents on roads, rivers, homes and businesses in Essex, Hertfordshire, and surrounding areas, and delivers first class at the scene medical service helping to save lives and reduce or prevent disability or suffering from critical injuries.

I set myself the personal challenge of participating in EHAAT 100 Miles in May 2021 as normally I sit at a desk most of the day writing press releases, blogs, content for websites, email, brochures, or newsletters for clients of Write Wai PR & Copywriting Services. See: https://www.writewai.com/pr-copywriting-services

Also, in August 2019 my middle son, Rory, needed the emergency services. Sadly, it was too late to help him, but I want to help the emmergency services be there for you or your loved ones, should they ever be needed.
EHAAT’s highly skilled clinical teams are made up of specially trained Pre-hospital Care Doctors and Critical Care Paramedics, who work alongside their regional partners using helicopters and rapid response vehicles that are fitted with state-of-the-art life-saving equipment.

These specialist teams are despatched in emergencies by the East of England Ambulance Service Trust to assist people like you or me, in fact everyone who lives, works or is passing through the region. Their service is provided by the Charity free-of-charge to any patient of any age, any background, any faith, who may need high level critical care.

I’ve never done a sponsored walk as an adult, but when I saw this challenge I thought it would be good for me physically and mentally and it would also be uplifting to help such a great cause. I was thrilled when my EHAAT 100 Miles in May 2021 participator's teeshirt arrived.

Postscript one month later
I'm delighted to inform you that I completed the 100 miles, walking my free time, and raised a total of £810.34p for EHAAT (my original target was £150 target). It has not only helped me get fitter and have a better feeling of well-being during the UK Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, but this money will help towards sending an emergency airborne EHAAT team to a major incident. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this total.

If you'd like to donate to EHAAT, contact them directly or get in touch with Write Wai through our contacts form. https://www.writewai.com/contact-us
